Major General Hal L. Muldrow from Norman, Oklahoma, was born in 1905. He is a member of the 1968 Class of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Muldrow graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1928. Following graduation, he joined the Oklahoma National Guard and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant.
Muldrow served as the Commanding Officer of the 189th Field Artillery Division in 1942 during the reorganization of the 45th Infantry Division. During World War II, Muldrow led the 189th Field Artillery Battalion to defend the beachhead at Salerno, Italy from the invading German Troops with fellow Oklahoman Russell Dwight Funk in 1943. He would become the artillery Commanding General in the Korean Conflict. He was promoted in 1952 to Major General and continued to serve as Commanding General of the 45th Infantry Division until he retired from the Oklahoma National Guard in 1960.
Following his accomplished military career, Muldrow served as Oklahoma State Senator from 1962 to 1966 and opened the Muldrow Insurance Agency in Norman where he worked until his passing in 1968.
